Fall Visits

Thanks to a couple of professional conferences, Maeve has had a chance to meet some far-flung friends this fall. In early October, Tracey, Maeve, and I flew to Calgary, Alberta, for the RMMLA conference. Tracey's mom happens to have several friends in Calgary, people that she and Tracey's dad met years ago and would see every February during their winter vacation in Maui. So just after arriving at our hotel, as we were checking in, a woman approached us and said something like, "Well, you must be Brian and Tracey." It was Carole, one of the Calgary crew. She came up for a visit as we settled into our room:

The next day, we received a call from Vic and Jan and arranged for them to stop by the hotel when we had some free time during the conference:

It was a quick trip, and after reading my paper, I had to rush out of my session during the Q & A period so we could catch our return flight. Maeve enjoyed seeing this RCMP moose in the airport:

A couple of weekends later, Amanda, a friend from graduate school, visited our fair city for a professional conference. She came to our house for dinner, and we all had a good time hanging out and playing with Maeve:

This one's just a final seasonal shot, with Maeve in the cool striped outfit that Jerry and Medea gave her (unfortunately, not wearing the matching pants):

  1. Maeve, you just get better and better, how is that possible for perfection to perfect itself? You are an enigma, you wee lass!

  2. Holy cow, Maeve looks exactly like Brian in the first picture in the post (with Calgary Carole). Amazing. Happy Birthday, Maeve!
