She's Got a Fever . . . And Not Just for More Cowbell

Tracey bought this onesie as a little joke for Brian, but the joke was on us. Maeve developed a fever of 103°F on New Year's Eve and spent the next three days listless and quiet before the fever broke on Thursday. On Friday, worried about her super-cranky baby, Tracey called the pediatrician, who diagnosed her over the phone (!) with roseola. Lo and behold, 24 hours later, the rash appeared. And now, one week after this all began, Maeve is almost back to normal. But it was a rough start to 2008 for all three of us!

  1. Gah! Poor baby, poor parents! Ben and Marina both had this. Cheeks were even redder than usual. :) I'm glad the fever broke! Are you okay?

I'm so excited for class today!

  2. This is both the funniest and saddest blog entry to date. Not sure whether to laugh or cry. Roseola's a bitch. I'm glad all are recovering. Cheers, Baby Rhett

  3. Hey, Maeve--Glad to hear you're on the mend, poor little thing. Now that you're better, our dad wants you to ask your mama where the t-shirt came from and whether or not it comes in a men's large...

  4. Wow - I just came from the blog of another momma friend, whose little boy was born within two weeks of Maeve, and she was reporting that he had just had roseola! What are the odds?

Here's to a swift and sure recovery and an upward curve to 2008.
