These last few weeks have been a big language development phase for Maeve. She loves to point at things and "talk" about them. She reliably says baby now when she sees a picture of a baby, and she says a few other words like Dada, Mama, ball, and kitty-cat, as well as social function expressions like hi and bye-bye. She also clearly understands a lot more words than she can consistently say, and she's learning more and more about how language works each day. Here she is having a morning chat with Mom:

You can tell Maeve is a McHenry, already quite the conversationalist.

No seriously, Mom, will you stop for just a second... wait til Grandma see's this... now let me see it.. come on, just a little look... coooome on... *pout* what? Balloons? Sweet - I thought they were around here somewhere... yep. Right there."
