No new baby yet, three days overdue. In the meantime, more from Squeakerville:
To prepare for her transition to big-sisterhood, we got Maeve a baby doll. She immediately understood the great fun to be had with it, mostly involving putting it on the floor, draping various pieces of cloth over it, and saying "Night-night." We've also been playing a little game for the past few weeks where we point at Mom's belly and ask Maeve, "What's that?" just like we do with fingers, toes, eyes, hair, and so on. She gives the right answer—"Baby!"—pretty regularly now.
Here she is enjoying her baby doll:

Maeve is TOTALLY ready for a sibling...she's gotta knack for putting baby to bed. Just make sure she doesn't whack the baby's head too hard in the process....
ReplyDeleteIt's Cribbage! At least, that's what Sadie named her doll who looks just like Maeve's new one. Putting dolls to bed, getting them up again, etc., is good for minutes of fun!
