In late January, we started 2008 with a
snowstorm that slowed down the city and closed the university for three days, and now in late December, we're ending the year with another one. So far the university has had to close for only two days—Thursday and Friday, December 18 and 19—but unlike last time classes aren't in session. Still, there's more snow in the forecast. Snow started falling last Wednesday morning, and it just kept on falling for at least a full day. By Thursday morning, we were digging out from close to two feet. We've had several more inches in passing bursts since then, just enough to keep Brian shoveling.
A few shots of our first family walk in the winter wonderland, on Friday:

A neighbor delivering some groceries to another snowed-in neighbor offered to take a shot of all of us:

On Saturday, Brian went out for a walk with both kids and took a few pictures of Maeve at her snow-bunny best:

Merry white Christmas to all!
Wow! In that first photo, Declan looks like he could be Maeve's (much smaller) twin. Their Alaskan blood is certainly paying off in their snow-enjoyment abilities. Ho ho ho! --d, t, s, & g
ReplyDeleteWow -- what snow you have! Those are huge piles! I hope you and your loved ones were able to get around safely.
ReplyDeleteLove that last picture of Maeve holding her binky. It almost looks like an ice cube!
