Squeakers Visit Connecticut for Thanksgiving

On her birthday, the day before Thanksgiving, we got Maeve up at 4:30 a.m. to spend all day in cars, airports and airplanes. Happy birthday!

Despite the travel travails, our flights were on time, and we had a fun visit with Brian's family. Maeve's cousin Meghan was especially glad to see her. Meg was a great help keeping an eye on Maeve for us and keeping her entertained. Here they are on Thanksgiving at Brian's parents' house:

Maeve's godfather, Paul, made sure she had a birthday cake to celebrate after Thanksgiving dinner:

Contemplating her cake:

Maeve ate some cake, but as usual, she found the ice cream "too cold!" Fortunately, Dad was nearby to make sure it didn't go to waste:

This is the same high chair that Brian used when he was Maeve's age—state-of-the-art for the late sixties:

After dessert, back to play-time with Meghan:

On Friday, we took a ride around town and stopped at the beach for a little while. It was sunny and the tide was high, but the wind drove us back to the car after a short walk:

On Friday night, Brian's brother Bob and his wife, Sarah, hosted a pizza party at their house. Here's Uncle Bill doing some kind of unorthodox high-five game with Meghan:

Meg and her dad, Jack:

Just like at college pizza parties, by the end of the night a guy in a rugby shirt had pulled his pants down. This time it was Bob's son Timmy:
