Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny visited again this year, the first time he had to fill baskets for both Maeve and Declan. Those brown things really were chocolate eggs—I checked.

Here's a three-picture series of Declan crawling around in his Easter duds:

He eventually rolled and shuffled his way right up next to Maeve, as he usually does, but she, also in her Easter best, couldn't be torn away from the new fish-shaped chalkboard that Grammy and Grampy gave her:

We finally cajoled Maeve into sitting down for a few brother-and-sister shots. As you can see, the hugging progressed quickly to borderline strangulation. No charges have been filed.

The kids had a big day, including a brunch party with our friends, several of whom brought children of their own. In the middle of playing with six other kids, Maeve crawled into her crib around her usual nap time. When I went to check on her, she said she wanted to take a nap and didn't want to come back and play. So I closed the door and went back to the party, satisfied with further evidence that she is indeed my daughter. She knows that nothing should get in the way of sleep.

After she woke up two hours later, wondering where all the people went who had left a half hour after she fell asleep, it was time to do some cleaning, including a bath for Declan, who received some assistance from big sis:
