Back in fall 2005, I found a group of women my age, all born in the same year, who were hoping to start a family. Nothing unusual about that, is there? Well, this group came together in an online discussion forum, so we'd never met "in real life" until now. But last weekend, many of us in the group met for the first time not online. We came from Germany via England, France, Colorado, Texas, Oregon, and of course, Washington. Our northeastern U.S. and African members didn't make it, but maybe next year.
Here's a group photo of the babies—four and a half months old on the left, and ten and a half months old on the right. Maeve is in the middle, waving her hands ecstatically.
And most of the dads and babies:
It was a great time! These women have been with me every step of pregnancy and Maeve's first year. Hardly a day has gone by when I haven't checked in with them. I don't know what I would have done without them all.
These are SUCH cool pictures! I love the line of babies. Maeve looks like a Madame Alexander doll. There is one - "Little Miss Huggums" - and she looks like Maeve.
